Right after its introduction in 1952. Breitling Navitimer becomes a favourite pilot’s watch - the "Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association" (AOPA) decided immediately to make the Navitimer their official watch. Besides measuring time, this watch was combining 3 essential tools for navigation: a watch, a chronograph and a slide rule. It was called the navigation timer: The Navitimer. It is equipped with several numeric bezels that give all basic flight information such as climb rate, fuel consumption ratio, conversion of miles into nautical miles or kilometres etc.
